Local Beaches

Our nearest beaches are part of the Jurassic coast which is a World Heritage site (the only one in England). It starts at Exmouth and extends for 95 miles finishing in Swanage in Dorset.

Sidmouth - 12 miles

Medium size town. Mainly sandy. Rock Pools. Unique Shops. 2 beaches the Seafront and Jacobs Ladder. Donkey Sanctuary nearby. Manicured municipal gardens.

Branscombe - 12 miles

Very pretty long thatched village. Pebble Beach. Deep water. Café for refreshments.

Beer - 13 miles

Fishing Village. Pebble Beach. Deep Water. Fishing boats do tourist mackerel fishing trips. Fish shop selling daily catch. Cafes on the beach. Pecorama model railways and gardens. Beer Quarry Caves attraction. Water Channel beside the pavement along the length of the village. Runners up in televised Village of the Year 2018.

Seaton - 14 miles

Medium size town. Pebble beach. Tramway goes from here to Colyford and Colyton, up the river Axe estuary. Lots of Birds and Wildlife to see on boardwalk at Seaton Wetlands.

Lyme Regis - 17 miles

Medium size town. Sandy beaches. Downhill to town and beach. Dinosaur Museum. Fossils can be found on the beach to the west.

Charmouth - 17.7 miles

Small town. Sandy beaches level from carpark. Best place for fossil hunting.

Budleigh Salterton - 20miles

Quaint small town. Pebble beach. Riverside walk along the River Otter.

Exmouth - 20 miles

Largest town in S E Devon. Cinema, 10 pin bowling, Soft play area. Sandy beaches and Sand Dunes. Boats trips with Stuart Line cruises. World of Country Life attraction nearby.

Dawlish - 33 miles

Small town. Black Swans. Sandy Beach. Elevated train line right on beach.
