Holidays are can be educational as well as times of great fun and joy.
We have available kits for you to borrow on a daily basis, that have been designed for children to use (under adult supervision) in fossil hunting, bat listening and bug finding. There are also recording journals for birds and butterflies.
Our starry skies are amazing as there is no light pollution.
We also allow guests to watch a calving. Most of the time this happens out in the fields when no one is there watching, however, if we feel that a cow may need assistance we will bring her in so that we can keep a better eye on her and assist if necessary. If you would like to witness this please ask. You will be able to observe and take photos from a safe distance.
Godford Farm is an ideal place to stay and location for Cyclists and Walkers
The farm is situated in an area that is ideal for either the cyclist or walker. Just 10 miles from the South West Coastal Path or 1 mile from Buzzard 52 cycle route. There are circular walks/rides starting from the farm taking you around the country lanes of 1, 2 or 5 miles passing through other villages and hamlets. Come in the autumn to experience quieter lanes and glorious colour changes of trees and scenery. Spring time you will see baby animals in the fields, lots of primroses in the hedgerows and wild daffodils.
Something for everyone – locally & just a short drive
Below are some useful ideas for you to do whilst on your holiday in Devon. There are also many public footpaths, bridleways, coastal paths and cycle routes. Many circular walks start in village centres of the surrounding area. Some of these villages are privately owned and still have lots of thatched properties.
Honiton has a public swimming pool, sports centre, golf course, famous lace museum. Every Tuesday and Saturday, Honiton has a street market on the high street. Historic thatched villages such as Broadhembury and Gittisham, both just 3 miles away.
